Job Description

**This position is contingent upon contract award**SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking an Operating Room Nurse. The Operating Room Nurse will facilitate providing professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery.Essential Job Duties: • Provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery • Promotes and restores patients’ health by completing the nursing process• Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs• Supervises assigned team members• Reinforcing patient understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards• Measures health outcomes against patient care goals and standards • Follows hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by State board of nursing, State Nurse Practice Act, and other governing agency regulations • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records • Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements • Troubleshoots malfunctions• Calls for repairs • Maintains equipment inventories • Evaluates new equipment and techniques and maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors' degree in Nursing• Current unrestricted U.S. state license as a Registered Nurse • Membership in the Nursing Specialty professional association is desirable• Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required • Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)• All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least six months out of the past year
