Hotel Overview: Known as the islands only all-suite oceanfront resort, the hotel is situated on Polo Beach in the world-class, master-planned destination of Wailea, on the south western coast of Maui. Summary of Responsibilities:Reporting to the Beach & Pools Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Welcome guests to the Beach and ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience
Oversee the general cleanliness and upkeep of the beach area
Ensure guests are aware of all services and activities available at the beach and pool
Lead daily instruction and canoe experience
Ensure that the canoe is in proper working order prior to daily excursions
Ensure all guests have registered for the canoe experience
Assist in promoting the facility and organizing special events as required
Follow departmental policies and procedures
Follow all safety and sanitation policies
Other duties as assigned
Previous experience in guest relations required
CPR and First Aid certification required
Must be a strong swimmer and have experience as a outrigger canoe paddler
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):
Frequent walking, standing and sitting throughout shift
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs
Frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Visa Requirements:All Candidates must be in possession of identification proving authorization to work in the United States as defined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA).
