Job Summary and Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

TheClinical Data Coordinator, Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) will be responsible for activities related to the scheduling and enrollment of subjects, and the management of samples/data from patients in clinical/translational studies. S/he will work closely with NIH-funded investigators engaged in research to ensure that procedures related to data collection, de-identification of data and samples and their labeling, transfer and storage are accurate, up-to-date and safeguarded. S/he will be responsible for all aspects of recordkeeping and sample handling for clinical-translational research projects.

Essential Generic Job Functions:

  1. Performs required daily clerical duties, including the use EPIC, Teletracking System, computer system, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by Medical Center.

  2. Maintains records of scans to be used in research, de-identification of records, archiving and de-archiving data as required.

  3. Ensures secure back-up of research records and samples.

  4. Provides technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.

  5. Responsible for subject recruitment, obtaining research consent, tracking of subjects and scheduling for ultrasound scans according to protocol SOPs.

  6. Acquisition of bio-samples, maintenance of the logs and documentation required for compliance with FDA standards.

  7. Working with Investigators/Business Intelligence/Information Technology to complete periodic data sweeps within the EMR, incorporate into database(s) and perform accuracy checks.

  8. Working with Investigators, IT to maintain protected database of materials that have been de-identified for research purposes.

  9. Maintains back-up systems to ensure safe storage of samples and data.

  10. Performs systematic methods of case finding and patient follow-up to link de-identified records back to case outcomes.

  11. Conductsreproducibility and inter- intra-observer variability studies for the techniques being developed (training provided).

  12. Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.

  2. Knowledge of maternal-fetal medicine procedures and processes including ultrasound

  3. Organizational skills and training commensurate with the research needs of the department.

  4. Ability to work with a team of researchers, clinicians and bioengineers.

Knowledge, Education and Skills Preferred:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Science preferred.

  2. 3 years in patient-oriented experience of the high-risk maternal-fetal medicine environment preferred.
