Hotel Overview:

The Fairmont Olympic Hotel is Seattle’s most celebrated treasure, and has been voted the number one hotel in Seattle by the readers of both Conde Nast and Travel & Leisure Magazines. The hotel has a rich history dating back to its opening in 1924. The Hotel is located in Seattle’s exclusive Rainier Square neighborhood and is an impeccably restored Italian Renaissance style building, housing 450 guest rooms, including 209 suites.

Summary of Responsibilities:Reporting to the General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Champion Fairmont's Culture, Mission, Vision and Values

  • Participate actively as a member of the Executive Committee

  • Participate actively in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan, Marketing Plan and Strategic Plan and achieve the objectives therein

  • Assume all responsibilities of the General Manager in their absence

  • Ensure the smooth operation and coordination of the operating departments through their respective department heads

  • Lead the Room Division and Food & Beverage Division of the hotel, ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction and productivity

  • Plays a lead role in yield management for the hotel

  • Communicates the hotel emergency plan and crisis procedures and ensures that they are kept up to date

  • Manages tenant affairs and negotiates leases

  • Manages the annual preventative maintenance schedule

  • Manages all guest communication systems i.e., guest directory, in-house TV information channel, welcome packages etc.

Employee Status

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Director of Operations with a Food & Beverage Division background

  • University/College degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Word and Excel
