Senior Software Engineer, .Net


Looking for an experienced .NET developer who wants to be a member of an agile team creating and enhancing the flagship LexisNexis legal research products. This position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This position performs software design - typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.

As the Senior Software Engineer your key roles and responsibilities will include:

Coordinates and communicates builds and deploys of application software across development, integration, certification and production environments as a release lead.

Plans and prepares development team for release activities and coordinates with testing and release management organizations.

Develops moderate-to advanced modules and system components and develops simple to moderately complex re-usable code.

Leads and participates in design, code and test reviews

Designs moderate-to advanced modules and system components

Diagnoses system performance problems using available standard performance tools and system indicators such as queue lengths, CPU utilization, etc.

Recommends and performs changes in system parameters or code to obtain optimum system performance

Conducts complete analysis and raises technical implications for changes in business process and/or requirements.

Interfaces with internal customers and vendor resources to gather requirements and provide recommendations on complex technical tasks.

Works independently to solve complex system problems using debugging tools or other diagnostic aids

Maintains an understanding of current industry trends possibly through attendance at vendor seminars and/or training sessions.

Leads and participates in design, code and test reviews

Recommends and performs changes in system parameters or code to obtain optimum system performance.

Interfaces with internal customers and vendor resources to gather requirements and provide recommendations on complex technical tasks.

Leads small to medium technical project design, engineering and integration efforts or develop complex code

Leads teams consisting of both employees and vendor resources in multiple locations and time zones.

Consults within cross-functional project teams to ensure integrity of existing fabrication processes and participates in implementation of new technologies.

Performs engineering cost/benefit analysis to verify potential effectiveness of new projects.

Upon acceptance of this role, the selected internal candidate will be required to sign an updated Non-Competition Agreement or Non-Solicitation and Non-Disclosure Agreement as a condition of continued employment.


Basic Qualifications:

5 years of experience in all phases of systems development in SDLC and Agile methodologies

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, math or equivalent technical discipline or equivalent technical experience.

4 years of web application development experience in C#, .NET, ASP.NET, MVC, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, SQL Server.
