Position Description

Allergan’s Global Health Outcomes Research is seeking a Senior Statistical Analyst to aid in the analysis of healthcare data to support product development and lifecycle management efforts.

Main Areas of Responsibilities

  • Executing statistical analysis plans

  • Developing SAS scripts to create patient level analytical datasets

  • Programing of summary statistics and modeling estimates

  • Review, maintenance, and debugging of SAS code

  • Review of study reports

  • Investigating and resolving data issues

  • Communication with internal stakeholders and/or vendors


  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in statistics, computer science, economics, mathematics, health sciences or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years previous healthcare claim and EMR database experience

  • Minimum 5 years programming experience with Base SAS, SAS/STAT, Proc SQL, and SAS/Macro

  • Experience with at least one health claims database

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong critical thinking skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Experience managing multiple tasks across various projects, simultaneously

  • Understanding of quality control procedures for statistical programming and analysis

Preferred Skills/Qualification

Advanced training or expertise in one of the following areas:

  • Real world/observational studies

  • Comparative effectiveness research

  • Health economics and/or outcomes research

  • Clinical outcome assessments/patient-reported outcomes

  • Knowledge of data warehousing systems and techniques
