About the Agency

This position is located in the Office of Complex Financial Institutions, Organizational Planning and Resource Management, Washington, DC of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides guidance to management officials regarding the Corporation's security mission, awareness, priorities and implementation approaches.

  • Provides guidance and assistance to OCFI senior management and personnel on all facets of information security.

  • Develops and implements OCFI’s security and privacy policies and procedures related to resolution plans.

  • Manages the day-to day operations of OCFI's IT projects with respect to any security initiatives/privacy portfolio.

  • Assesses Corporation technology and IT industry direction, and legislative and oversight agency actions to determine if program changes or new initiatives are required within the office.

  • Manages application-specific security awareness and training. Ensures periodic training is obtained by appropriate staff on specific security roles and general access control practices.

  • Undertakes research so as to offer current and credible expertise on security and privacy issues.

  • Assists Information Security and Privacy Staff (ISPS) and/or office management in responding to GAO, OIG, and other third party inquiries.

  • Collaborates with the Division of Finance, Corporate Management and Control and other organizations external to the division, particularly on issues that are sensitive and have office implications.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the Private or public sector. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-14 Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience leading IT security information program initiatives; implementing business-specific security and privacy practices as directed; developing security and privacy policies and procedures; conducting risk assessments of security-related functions; coordinating security-related IT programs with managers and customers and experience serving as a subject matter expert on IT compliance and security-related issues.
