The incumbent serves as an expert in records and information management policy development, implementation, compliance and oversight in the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), Office of Mission Support, Directorate of Support Services. The incumbent takes a lead role to advise program officials on the impact of records management and vital records requirements on program activities and initiatives, as well as enterprise-system architecture software development, and information systems implemented in TIGTA.
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Serve as an expert in electronic and non-electronic recordkeeping systems and records and information management programs, activities and applications.
- Advise officials on records management requirements, including requirements associated with the creation, maintenance, retention and disposal of records in all media, and the implementation of electronic recordkeeping systems.
- Serve as the support services representative throughout the entire life cycle of records management, determining record documentation requirements, setting goals and objectives.
- Develop and or analyze system documentation and other background materials to assess the readiness and justify the need for recordkeeping systems.

Specialized experience:For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Performing hardcopy and electronic records management work including planning, controlling, directing, organizing, training, and promoting activities involved with respect to records management.
Developing electronic records and information management programs, procedures and operating systems. Specialized experience:For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Performing hardcopy and electronic records management work including planning, controlling, organizing, and promoting activities involved with respect to records management.
- Interpreting management programs, procedures, and operating systems related to records management.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
