          Job Description Lockheed Martin is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide full design, acquisition, installation, configuration, maintenance, and technology upgrade support for the National Defense University Information Technology (IT) Laboratories (Lab) that must be maintained at the leading edge of technology to ensure that the NDU Information Resources Management College (iCollege) consistently offers the most realistic and challenging Information Assurance (IA)/ and Information Technology (IT) education. The candidate will serve as the Systems and Principle Information Engineer of the laboratory complex that must provide the iCollege staff and faculty a realistic, fully functional environment to maintain their skills at the high level of proficiency, necessary to maintain a state-of-the-art” expertise.
          The candidate must be capable of maintaining the iCollege security posture in accordance with required DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) certifications of all encapsulated networks and systems and develop and submit DIACAP packages to obtain Authority to Operate (ATO) certifications across a broad range of rapidly changing and evolving environments, maintain and enhance current application installations, configuration profiles and user interfaces for the Multi-Network instantiations of the complex by developing new and innovative techniques for exploiting the technology advancements and focused design insertions for curricular supporting the iCollege mission of IT/ET experiments, demonstrations, and exercises. Perform technical and functional analysis and support virtualization and imaging of system assets to increase flexibility, minimize reconfiguration requirements, and increase system availability and reliability.
          Duties will include continuing hands-on” technical systems and server administration support to rapidly establish, configure, and maintain the encapsulated systems, fully documenting the architecture, processes and procedures in their use and operation. This will also include technical support for network interfaces with external systems, organizations, and agencies.
          Translate development concepts into concise acquisition and/or reconfiguration requirements of system hardware and network infrastructure. Develop and submit engineering change requests, project and test plans, and implementation schedules of installation activities.
          Demonstrate a strong grasp of the English language and the ability to converse clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, to Instructors, Students, Vendors, Contractors, and Government Representatives.
          Basic Qualifications Capable of designing and implementing system operational configurations to meet compressed schedules supporting emerging functional requirements. Be proficient in Microsoft Server Operating Systems, and system and network security activities.
          Experienced in network security and DIACAP processes and documentation to establish and maintain system certification and meet controlling agency inspections and reviews.
          Experience with advanced technology insertion methodologies
          Working technical knowledge and experience with Simulation & Gaming, Crisis Management Center, Virtual Worlds, Technology Demonstrations, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, etc.)
          Develop and maintain the laboratory standard desktop image to include office productivity tools, gaming and simulation software, and virtual world technologies and
          Must have or obtain DoD 8570.01M IAT Level III certification (e.g., CISSP) and MCP [Windows Server 2008]) prior to employment.
