Mortgage Data Specialist-Mortgage ServicesJob InformationLocation: 1720 Route 23City and State: Wayne, NJHours: 40 a weekRequisition ID: 5480Position Type: Full timeSalary Grade: E21DescriptionThe Mortgage Data Specialist is responsible for building, maintaining and supporting departmental business technology, database administration, reporting, system upgrades, testing, training for the mortgage servicing department.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Work closely with department management to program databases, reports and forms to ensure an effective and efficient workflow within the Servicing department.Produce, review and proof of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly servicing reports using Access and other programs.Create, review and submit departmental Alternative Input Files, as needed, and review/correct resulting errors.Develop a testing protocol for Core system releases to ensure key individuals from each functional area test and review all software changes. Liaisons with department SME's to understand work functions. Coordinates with ISD to ensure test scripts are inclusive of all work processes performed within the department. Works with users to ensure testing is completed and all functionality is implemented correctly. Liaison with ISD and/or software vendor to correct any issues prior to installation in production environment.Prepare various reports for Management as requested, to include portfolio analysis, data mining, etc.Analyze work methods to recommend implementation strategies to streamline work processes, increase productivity, ensure compliance and reduce costs.Assist in updating and maintaining Departmental folders in the Pool directory to keep forms, reports, program cards and various other information up to date.Data map a variety of products from acquired institutions to VNB systems. Active participant in conversion of data to Core system.Maintain full compliance with all regulatory requirements as well as Investor and Bank policies and procedures.Required Skills:Excellent computer and programming skills.Proficient in Access and other database programs and importing/exporting raw data, writing queries, building reports, mining and scrubbing data.Strong knowledge of mortgage servicing.Good verbal and written communication skills.Ability to exercise independent judgment skills to make decisions and solve problems.Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments and distribute (work) among multiple direct reports.Required Experience:High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of three years mortgage related experience.Bachelor's Degree preferred.Valley National Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
