Reporting to the Supervisor of either Mobile or Field Equipment Maintenance, within the Maintenance Execution team, your duties as a Technician Mechanical will include;
Ensure all incidents, near misses or hazards are reported and investigated to ensure compliance with the Western Australian Iron Ore incident reporting guidelines.
Use established systems to recognise and control at risk behaviours and situations.
Understand the significant HSE risks for which you have principal responsibility and ensure controls are implemented.
Actively participate in a workplace that is free from harassment, discrimination and victimization.
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in identifying and implementing initiatives that contribute value to the business from a MEM perspective, ensuring compliance to the Change Management Procedure.
Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Maintenance in all areas of Mobile Plant - Shovels, Excavators and Drills
Following specific maintenance programs and procedures.
Operation of mobile equipment within limits of competence, training and experience.
Carrying out checks on equipment as required.
Accurate completion of technical documentation, reports and drawings as required.
Use of computerised maintenance systems (SAP), including time confirmations, raising notifications and closing work orders.
Take personal responsibility for helping the team achieve expected results by doing what is required and taking timely actions within the scope of competence without being supervised.
Contribute to the ongoing development, review and amendment of Quality Assurance documents as required.
Actively participate in all activities, volunteering ideas and exchanging information freely.
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with rescheduling of work, organising and coordinating resources, scoping of work and determining priorities when required.
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate must have experience / qualifications in:
Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification with a minimum 2 years Post Trade Experience
Previous experience with Atlas Copco PV271 and D65
Liebherr excavators is desirable
C and HR Driver's License
EWP, Working at Heights, CV (Hiab), CN (Non Slewing Crane), Dogman
Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills
Ability to work closely in a team environment
Strong heavy vehicle mechanical fitting maintenance competency, with sound diagnostic abilities and schematic drawings
Exposure to asset management principles in particular overall equipment effectiveness
You will be based at our 'Eastern Ridge' mine site on a fly-in fly-out 2 weeks on 1 week off roster. The Eastern Ridge mine is made up of several deposits and contributes to the overall ore production of the Newman Joint Venture hub. The facilities at the FIFO village include a fully equipped gym. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
