Works in conjunction with the Business Analysis and Development teams to ensure that applications meet requirements and are of high quality.

  • Reviews Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, and Test Cases to understand the functional and technical requirements in order to test the application and verify those requirements are successfully met.

  • Executes test scripts and documents defects for test scripts where the actual results do not successfully meet expected results.

  • Design test procedures, maintenance procedures and configurations. Creates test strategies for application release. Conducts test strategy and test plan walkthroughs. Creates estimates and allocates resources for individual projects. Works with Development teams to insure test coverage for all functionality. Has significant interaction with internal customers.

  • At this grade the role should include as its primary duty either (a) the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. (b) Design work (Design means a tailored design in order to meet a specific client request) or (c) Programming (Programming means writing original programs using computer code that is intended for use on a wide scale basis. Writing test scripts used in troubleshooting problems would generally not be considered “programming” unless the script is intended to be used as a script for use on a repetitive basis for troubleshooting (i.e. – when other users call, the test script is used for the purposes of troubleshooting

  • Proactively looks for ways to improve processes and procedures

  • Prioritizes and manages in a way that uses resources effectively

  • Is decisive; communicates findings, issues and proposed solutions to business executives

  • Manages costs/expenses and is involved in budgeting process (as applicable)

  • Stays abreast of trends and best practices and factors into approach

  • Identifies process improvements and efficiency enhancements

  • Appreciation for operational complexities and how they may translate into risk on a given project

  1. Technical Skills Proficient skills in the following:

  2. SQA Analysis- Ability to read and comprehend business requirements and high level design deliverables well enough to create detailed test cases. Ability to map test cases to business requirements. Basic understanding of development lifecycle and quality assurance phases

  3. MS Office tools

  4. Can write and execute basic SQL statements

  5. SeleniumHQ, LoadRunner HP QTP or other similar tools - Basic understanding including navigation between functional areas within the tool. Ability to input or load and execute test cases and document actual results within the tool. Ability to pull data from testing tools for reporting.

Business Knowledge

  • Proficient in business applications knowledge

  • Proficient in Project Task Estimation; Resource Scheduling; Risk Management; Issue Management; Adherence to Standard Project Lifecycle; Evaluation of impact to Total Cost of Ownership for applications and processes in their preview.
