Within Consumer and Community Banking, the Digital IT team is responsible for setting and executing strategies that align with business objectives and drive innovation across Chase Online and Mobile, helping to establish the best Digital banking customer experience in the industry.

As a Design Authority within the Digital Big Data & Analytics team you will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications for the Chase Online customer base. You will oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of number of strategic software applications. The ability to communicate effectively is required as you will work closely with other groups both within and outside of Digital to coordinate design, development, and testing efforts of your assigned application components to ensure the successful delivery of the project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Hands on development lead role focused on creating big data and analytics solutions for Digital channel

  • Manage and mentor team members in areas of distributed computing and big data solutions

  • Code review of mission critical components

  • Analyze business and functional requirements and provide IT solution

  • Document and lead design reviews, provide input to the design recommendations

  • Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members

  • Bachelor’s degree or better in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.

  • 10+ years of experience in middle-tier/backend systems development in Java/Linux.

  • Big data background with experience designing and implementing large scale systems.

  • Working experience with Hadoop, Enterprise Java development, NoSql data platforms (Cassandra), Pub/sub messaging (Kafka, Rendezvous, AMPS, etc), Stream processing (Storm, Spark Streaming, Apex, NiFi, etc).

  • Extensive experience with horizontally scalable and highly available system design and implementation, with focus on performance and resiliency.

  • Extensive experience profiling, debugging, and performance tuning complex distributed systems.

  • Willingness to commit extra effort to meet deadlines as required on a high profile and business critical project.
