Principal Investigator, Ink Development, Digital Printing (PhD) (Job Number: 010134W-01)


The primary responsibility for this role is to lead ink development forthe Digital Printing.

The successful candidate will

  • Be responsible for developing and evaluating newinkjet inks in various print-head platforms for textile and commercial markets basedon existing digital printing competencies

  • Spearhead new technology platform developmentfor next generation digital inks

  • Interact with ESL scientists to definedispersion and polymer needs for the ink developments

  • Work with project leaders in interacting withcustomers and development partners to establish CTQs and define programobjectives

  • Provide technical leadership to deliver againstprogram milestones and regulatory compliance initiatives

  • Responsible for technology hand-off tomanufacturing technology group to ensure proper ink manufacturing scale-up andcommercialization


PhD Degree preferably in Chemistry or in related fields such as Chemical Engineering

Scientific / Technical Expertise

  • Ability to recognizing underpinning scientificcauses and define key variables so as to address challenging technical issuesin ink formulation and development.

  • Optimally deploy R&D resources toeffectively address multi-variable ink formulation problems, optimizingmultiple customer CTQs, within project timelines

  • Experience in one or more of the followingfields is highly desirable

-- interfacial science, colloid/dispersed systems, formulation, pigments, color science, polymer synthesis and rheology.
