ASML is the world leader of semiconductor lithography equipment which are simply high precision industrial machinery. The electrical development department owns the electrical infrastructure of these systems. This includes the architecture, design, documentation, integration, test, production support and factory support for both installed baseline and new product modules and machines.

The electro-mechanical Engineer is a key member of the Electrical Development Team whose tasks focuses on the structuring, 3D design, 2D documentation and engineering change implementation of electromechanical enclosures, cabling, and printed circuit boards/assemblies. The tasks involve investigation, prototype design, prototype testing, production design release, production integration support and continued customer support. The core responsibilities of the Electro-Mechanical Engineer are to: (40%) Design and Documentation (30%) Deliver conceptual/final production designs and documentation (10%) Deliver test hardware designs and documentation (60%) Review and Engineering Change Release (20%) Investigate Engineering Change Requests & drive Change Notifications to closure (20%) Communicate with Cross sector (EE, ME, PE, and Logistics) for change alignment (20%) Self-Checking and Peer-Checking department designs and change notifications
Associates Degree with relevant work experience Bachelor of Science with motivation for design, documentation and engineering change Master of Science will be taken under advisement with motivation for design, documentation and driving ECs Any of the following majors is required for the position: Electro-mechanical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology (Preferred) Electro-Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering (with motivation for driving ECs) Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering (taken under advisement based on work experience) Computer Aided Design Technology (taken under advisement based on work experience) *Some understanding of electrical or electromechanical competencies preferred
3 to 15 years of design & logistics experience including: Working knowledge of wiring diagrams and schematic diagrams; Working knowledge of industry codes and standards (i.e. NEC 70, NFPA 79, Machine Tool Standards, etc.); Working knowledge of Engineering Change processes (creation/request to release/order & notification); Working knowledge of connector types and vendors/manufacturers; Ability to conceptualize in 3D the entire electrical infrastructure of a project including: - Point-to-Point Cable assemblies - Cable Bundles/Harnesses (multiple point-to-point cables tied together) - Sheet Metal designs - PPCA, PCBA, and PCBs (including I/O connector and mechanically critical component placement) - Electronics Packaging: Sheet metal enclosures with PCBA interconnections (i.e. I/O or Safety Handling Box) Sheet metal enclosures with wiring interconnections (i.e. AC/DC Mains Distribution Box) Electronics Racks with PCA Card Slots Electronics Cabinets including structure which contains racks and means of cooling Working knowledge of drafting best practices including geometric dimensioning (GD&T;); Ability to create and provide work instructions to co-developers in support of project tasks; Ability to manage co-developers supporting design drawings and documentation creation; Ability to manage co-developers supporting engineering change release; Ability to create statements of work for project co-developer support from concept through EC Release; Ability to create test procedures, test specifications and test reports; Ability to integrate designs at the testrig or production module levels; Ability to test designs at the test-bench, testrig or production module level;
Software: 3D Cad - NX preferred (ASML currently using NX9), other 3D CAD programs acceptable DMS - TeamCenter preferred (ASML currently using TC10), other DMS programs acceptable Master Data - SAP, other Master Data Management systems acceptable Office Suite - Microsoft Office – Preferred, Not Mandatory
