We have a current opening for an experienced RN to work in our ED at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff!

The Registered Nurse, working in collaboration with the primary physician, provides coordination of the patient plan of care and the patient care team. The RN works with the patient/family/significant other(s) and interdisciplinary team members to develop an individualized plan of care to include education and discharge planning interventions. Together with the interdisciplinary team members, the RN evaluates the plan of care and addresses unmet outcomes for further intervention or consultation. The RN utilizes the nursing process to deliver care for specified patients in accordance with Ministry Health Care's Mission, Howard Young Health Care's policy and procedures, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Located in the heart of the Northwoods, this Ministry hospital is a place where patients really do come first. Some of the main duties include:

Being accountable for the delivery of individualized age-specific care related to their discipline. Incorporating current clinical knowledge with established nursing practice in performing intervention utilizing the nursing process. Performing accurate assessment of patient and family with appropriate documentation of data. Organizing and analyzing multi-system data to identify basic and complex health care needs, applying holistic and integrated knowledge base to reflect the priority of identified problems/needs. Developing and documenting individualized, comprehensive and outcome oriented plan of care including teaching needs and discharge assessment. Prioritizing the delivery of nursing care using time and resources effectively. Facilitating and providing goal directed patient care associated with care protocols and or collaborative multidisciplinary plans of care. Delegating or referring aspects of care to health team members consistent with their roles, responsibilities and competence. Evaluating patient response to care, overall progress toward desired outcomes, and the effectiveness of nursing care over the period of time, from a single shift to several days. Using the medical record as a communication tool to document care/services provided, the plan of care and patient's progress toward goal achievement. Organizing, adjusting and completing assignments within an appropriate time frame based on changing department needs and patient caseload.

AGE OF PATIENT CARED FOR: Newborn to Geriatrics

Qualifications: Requirements for this position:

You must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. You must have current Wisconsin licensure as a Registered Nurse, or be eligible to obtain. At least one year of recent, acute care RN experience is required . Previous ED or critical care experience is strongly preferred . Current BLS certification is required. This is full time position with 36 hours scheduled per week. Shifts will be variable, and variable days of the week. Holiday and “on call” will be discussed at time of interview.
