Eaton Corporation Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Aguascalientes, Mexico

Eaton Vehicle Group has a position opening for a Regional Senior Engineer for Manufacturing.

Position Overview

The primary function of this position is focused on leading cross functional teams to improve manufacturing and assembly processes for new and existing products throughout VGNA manufacturing sites.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads the creation of manufacturing processes, routings and drawings

  • Evaluate and establish manufacturing cost, quality plan and investment of new, relocated and redesigned components

  • Recommends improvements to existing manufacturing operations

  • Implements improvements to existing manufacturing operations

  • Develops all manufacturing engineering inputs required for the development of accurate cost models in support of the quotation process

  • Coordinates best practice implementation between multiple facilities

  • Presents manufacturing plans to the Senior Management for approval

  • Evaluate and verify processes and tool designs completed by peers

  • Investigate, analyze and recommend new and/or alternate equipment and manufacturing methods

  • Prepare financial justification for projects in support of CAR analysis

  • Manage capital and expense spending for assigned projects

  • Procure equipment and tooling per project plan and standards

  • Directs problem resolution activities such as 8-D and projects of continuous improvement


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in Manufacturing Engineering

  • Candidate must be fluent in Spanish and English

  • Candidate must be able and willing to travel up to 50% within MX/US region primarily

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering

  • Previous experience with hard finishing operations (Grinding, Hard Turning)

    Position Criteria

  • Experience with machining

  • Ability to design manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency

  • Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of machine tools

  • Familiarity with Heat Treat operations (Carburizing)

  • Familiarity with assembly operations

  • Must possess the ability to define specifications for automation in support of manufacturing operations

  • Team facilitation skills with the ability to lead a team to enthusiastic consensus

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Must be able to establish positive working relationships and credibility with multiple manufacturing sites

  • Must be able to work with limited, and remote, supervision

  • Must be capable of handling multiple projects at a time

  • Must be comfortable interfacing with customers and all levels of management

  • Must be able to function in multicultural work environments

  • High level of creativity in creating unique solutions

  • BSME, BSIE or BS Manufacturing Technology
