The successful candidate has passion for embedded systems and desire to continually improve one’s own skills and progress the knowledge of the entire firmware team. This position is a unique opportunity to spend hands on time with electromechanical embedded systems and contribute to leading edge firmware architectures while having mentorship from senior engineers. Our products utilize the latest ARM based microcontrollers, high speed digital electronics, stepper motors, optical sensors and much more.

This position can involve an assortment of engineering tasks such as requirements analysis, high level architecture design, implementation, debugging in the lab, field trials, lifecycle support, etc, depending on project schedules. Candidates who apply for this job must have a genuine passion for engineering, a great attitude and aptitude, the ability to innovate, and a sincere interest in electrical / firmware design.


Development of firmware using the C programming language targeting ARM based micro-controllers. The following tasks/skills are typical:

• Develop firmware using a test driven development (TDD) framework • Code algorithms as threads running under a Real Time Operating System (RTOS) • Structure threads using a state-machine driven paradigm • Debug algorithms both on the hardware and under software simulation.


• Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field • Development experience with C in embedded systems. • Solid understanding of electrical design principles • Self-motivated • Able to work in an interdisciplinary team environment • High degree of focus on customer satisfaction and quality • Thorough attention to detail • Great communication skills • Excellent problem-solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Advanced C programming • Assembly language programming • Embedded programming principles and best practices • Digital and analog design • Familiarity with Microsoft device driver development would also be considered an asset
