Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist for our Nursing Professional Development Department located at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. This is a full-time position that is benefits eligible. Hours will be scheduled on first shift (days from 8:00am-4:30pm) with flexibility required based on department need. Will be primarily working in the Women's hospital with occasional traveling between NorthShore sites.


In this role, you will:

  • Design and deliver educational programs, tools and services to promote competency and enhance the role performance of nursing personnel

  • Partner with nursing management and key stakeholders to identify learning needs, plan, and prioritize education to achieve organizational goals

  • Coach and mentor staff to continually advance their ability to provide superior patient care

  • Utilize expertise in adult learning theory, teaching strategies, and evaluation methodology

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Current professional nursing licensure in the state of IL required

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field required

  • Minimum of three years experience in appropriate clinical setting required

  • Prior staff development or management experience preferred

  • L&D and Mother/Baby experience required
