METAL SPRAY TECHNICIAN I 2nd shift – Forest City, NC

Summary :

The Metal Spray Tech is responsible for assisting the Metal Spray Tech II in the finishing of metal parts and components in the Metal paint department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Assists with all job change overs and startups, turns on drying ovens and verifies line speed as needed.Must monitor quality of all parts being painted and assist in hand spraying as neededServes as a primary back-up to the Metal Spray Tech II.Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment required for machine/departmentMust maintain proper housekeeping in and around machine/work area.Other duties, as assigned

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED minimum.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and basic computer skills.

Other Qualifications

At least three months mechanical and manufacturing experience. Six months experience in hand spraying techniques and spray booth set-up preferred.
