**This is a full-time day position Tuesday-Saturday from 9a-5p
Assesses individual resident’s art therapy and leisure needs to provide a basis for individual program planning. This is accomplished through analysis of interests, needs and skills. Plans and implements art therapy, leisure and social activities for residents to ensure that clients' needs are addressed.
Participates as a team member in planning treatment programs.
Collaborates in the implementation of treatment plans.
Develops cooperative relationships with volunteers and service organizations to expand programming opportunities for residents.
Plans and implements art therapy, and leisure and social activities for residents to ensure that clients' needs are addressed. This is accomplished by directly observing residents, conducting assessments and reviewing literature to identify effective methods, consulting with other art therapy professionals, and designing individual art therapy programs.
Reviews expressive therapy plans to ensure that suitable measures have been taken to protect the health and safety of residents.
Plans and implements individual art therapy sessions as deemed necessary via the treatment plan.
Assists in the development of goals for the Expressive Therapy Department, specific to art therapy.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Current license and/or certification through national agency for specific profession (music, art, etc.).
Art therapy and leisure needs assessment principles and methods sufficient to permit the development of relevant, treatment plans.
Art therapy principles and practices sufficient to meet the needs of a wide range of residents.
Specialized art therapy principles as they apply to assigned disability groups.
Health and physical requirements sufficient to protect the health and safety of residents during the conduct of recreation and leisure activities.
