Examples of Work

Complete wanted person entry forms for teletype operations. Complete NCIC, NCIS and NICAMS data entry functions for parolees, re-entry furlough participants and community custody inmates. Process detainers, notifiers, cancellations, extraditions, trial requests, and transportation orders, accurately and timely. Utilize effective oral and written communications using telephone, correspondence, teletype, email, facsimile, etc. Process certified mail. Complete self-study of NCIC Operator Manual/CLEIN Manual. Query criminal history, wanted person, and driver records in association with background checks. Conduct validations as needed. Maintain alphabetical file system daily. Utilize copier to scan documents and store in electronic folders.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a post secondary degree in office management, secretarial/office support, customer service, administration, or a related area OR one year of experience in office management, secretarial/office support, customer service, or administration, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management OR one year of coursework/training or experience involving research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency.

PREFERRED: Experience in teletype operations and records management. Certified teletype operator or the ability to become certified within one year of appointment. Experience in NCIC, NCIS, NCJIS, NICAMS, CTS and other NDCS electronic data systems. Experience working with community custody inmates and related operations.

OTHER: Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
