Molex Maintenance Technician Intern in Menomonie, Wisconsin

Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm Monday - Friday

The Controls Technician works independently across all production departments and functional support areas, focusing on support, uptime, and improvement of new and existing equipment control systems.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with Controls Engineering and production areas to ensure equipment is operating at targeted efficiency and quality goals.

  • Work from a prioritized list of controls projects and modifications in coordination with engineering, quality, and production departments, ensuring focused continuous improvement.

  • Proactively find and implement process improvement opportunities to resolve manufacturing equipment's design, safety, and process issues with existing and new equipment.

  • Timely documentation of work projects and breakdowns, and documentation of modifications to production equipment control systems.

  • Self learning of current equipment and control technologies related to Molex manufacturing processes, using documentation and departmental resources.

  • Serve as a contributing member on manufacturing teams, reviewing controls issues as required.

  • Maintain a safe work environment and good housekeeping practices.

  • Actively support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and programs.

  • Understand, support, and contribute to current Molex Quality and Environmental systems by following stated policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Primary responsibilities are with Molex Lincoln campus, with supporting responsibilities reaching out to suppliers, customers, and other Molex facilities.

Job Title:Maintenance Technician InternJob Description:Key Responsibilities of the Position under Maintenance Technician guidance:

  • Install, set up, and troubleshoot molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and assembly equipment.

  • Diagnose malfunctions through use of proper test equipment.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and assembly equipment.

  • Properly document repairs through use of Maintenance Work Order System

  • Perform general housekeeping by keeping the facility and grounds neat

  • Perform other job duties as assigned to meet the objectives of the facility

  • Keep work area clean

  • Report incidents and injuries to team leader/manager immediately

  • Recognize close-call incidents and safety hazards and take action to eliminate them

  • Use equipment properly and follow the safety features/operating procedures

  • Wear applicable personal protective equipment

  • Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures

  • Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action and customer satisfaction

  • Some programs may have vision requirements
