This entry level Chemistry Technician position will involve training that consists of station orientation, chemical sampling procedures, gas and water testing methods, and identification and review of periodic test.
The Nuclear Chemistry Technician T1 will:
Learn basic chemistry fundamentals, appropriate use of human performance tools and basic laboratory practices such as pH, conductivity and balance operation.
Collect chemical samples from various plant systems.
Perform gas and water tests in conjunction with the training program.
Perform basic chemical tests and analyses in conjunction with the training program.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
One year each of college level math (pre-calculus, chemistry, and physics) is required(a copy of transcripts will be required).
Demonstrated aptitude in fundamental elements of science and mathematics.
Ability to communicate effectively using oral and written skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and within the framework of a team.
Ability to work under adverse environmental conditions i.e. high temperatures.
Associate Degree in Mathematics or Science is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred degree.
