As an Associate Solutions Architect you play a key role in engineering technology solutions within a product ecosystem. You will drive innovation and use technology to drive connection through a multi-channel experience. You will be responsible for the engineering and delivery of all technical aspects of a Tally project within one client delivery team within the department. This may include leading engineers assigned to your team who are typically responsible for creating and maintaining solutions for one client. Bring new ideas, tools, services, and techniques to the group.

Work harmoniously with all Client Services and Technology team members.

Perform technology audits, and vendor selections.

Follow and help evolve Olson 1to1 s architecture standards.

Own medium/large engineering efforts.

Lead 1 large project OR numerous medium/small engineering projects.

Mentor and manage teams on said efforts.

Stay up to date on skills, work on expanding to others.

Stay organized, calm, and rational in your dealings with clients and coworkers.

Use professional communications skills both written and verbal.

As an Associate Solutions Architect you will collaborate with a cross functional client delivery team. This includes working with the Account Manager, Technical Director, Technical Project Manager, Business Analyst, Data Team, QA Team, Infrastructure, and Security Team on a day-to-day basis to ensure the solutions are being implemented in a way that meets the vision and requirements.


50% perform "hands-on" engineering of technical solutions for client projects. This includes ensuring the Olson SDLC is being followed for every request whether it is an ad-hoc request or a several month project.

20% plan for technology engineering of one client application. This might include application architecture, object design, database schema design, white papers, application reviews, gathering technical requirements, estimating engineering efforts, and providing input on the project schedule.

10% build successful relationships with internal and external clients to drive adoption of technical solutions and resulting revenue streams.

10% coach and mentor the engineering team to deliver quality projects on time and within budget.

10% perform technology operations of client application, including performance tuning and optimization. Be responsible for incident response management of production applications. Lead the delivery of incident resolution.

With the description above, the Associate Solutions Architect is responsible for helping identify, lead and execute strategic and operational direction for our client using an existing technology platform. The Associate Solution Architect will partner with the Account and Project Management teams to deliver and operate the technology platform for the client. A well-rounded strong technology background with the ability to interact with clients and coach/mentor junior technologists will help the ideal candidate be successful in this role.



Bachelor s degree in computer science, management information systems or equivalent.

5 years programming experience including at least 2 years of modern Java.

3 years of systems integration experience in highly integrated and diverse technology environments.

Experience with building web applications in Java (particularly REST/SOAP APIs), Kafka, and ElasticSearch.

Experience with or exposure to Javascript, NodeJS, and single-page web application architecture.

Strong knowledge of at least one programming language other than Java.

Demonstrated success in building design patterns and software engineering best practices.

Experience with automated testing methodologies (TDD, or) and tools (JUnit, or).

Strong competency writing SQL queries; some experience with relational database modeling and design.

Strong understanding of industry standard enterprise web applications (design, tuning and language) and technical infrastructure.

Experience with Linux and Windows systems architecture and maintenance.

Experience with load balancing, distributed computing, and cloud architectures.

A solid grasp of the Git version control system and the Atlassian tools of Jira, Confluence, and Bamboo.

A solid grasp of Artifactory and Maven or similar tools.

Combination of business acumen and IT systems expertise to understand how customer business issues impact their IT environments.

Proven ability to coach/mentor junior technologists and interact with various stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to be a proactive self-starter by identifying needed actions and taking them.

Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with people at all levels as well as within a team.

Strategic thinking ability, able to creatively provide solutions and ideas as well as problem solve.

Strong relationship building skills, project management, and ability to draw insight from analytical assessments.

Design and engineer innovative solutions to product requirements with assistance from our internal engineering group and consulting architects as required.

Experience with modern software engineering methodologies, with emphasis on flexible software engineering life cycles including some hardware and infrastructure design.

Desire to learn and accept new challenges within and outside of your core skills.

Proven understanding of the SDLC, including CI/CD pipelines.
