IT Project Leader, Oracle


Primary Responsibilities

This a contract position for upto 2 years. ​

  • Coordinate internal resources and vendors for the successful execution of Oracle 12C upgrade projects

  • Focus on delivering projects on-time, within scope and within budget

  • Develop project charters, plans and schedules involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility leveraging the subject matter experts

  • Coordinate resource availability and allocation

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

  • Report and escalate to management as needed and as defined

  • Use appropriate techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs

  • Be a Project Management practitioner of PMI best practices for leading projects through their project lifecycle;

  • Comply with all Information Technology service levels, change and version control, systems development methodology, standards, policies, audit and financial controls;

  • Manage funding allocated to projects consistent with good financial practice;

  • Pro-actively communicate status including quality and performance metrics of all work in progress to all stakeholders;

  • Promote a positive work environment through demonstrated initiative and leadership by example;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Specifications

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in computer science or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years' experience in leading and delivering IT Infrastructure Projects; Oracle applications and database upgrade Projects.

  • Canadian Municipal experience would be an asset

  • Experience in Oracle 12C Infrastructure implementation and Database upgrade projects

  • Experience in Oracle 12C Middleware and applications implementation and upgrades projects

  • Experience in Oracle Reports conversion to Oracle BI

  • Previous experience in Oracle application development projects is an asset

  • Good understanding of Oracle licensing model

  • Exceptional project management, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service and ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders and senior level management

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate staff, stakeholders and contracted service providers;

  • Proven written and presentation skills to various audiences;

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align project decisions with the Infrastructure Services Roadmap and IT Master Plan

  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills;

  • Knowledge of vendor management, contract administration, change management approaches and annual budgeting;

  • Commitment to service excellence and total quality is essential.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and use of MS Project and SharePoint would be an asset;

Note: This is a contract up to 24 months

Hours of Work: 35 hour per week

Salary: $53.54 - $71.38 / hour
