The Workforce Coordinator (DVOP) provides job search assistance, preparation and/or vocational guidance to eligible veteran applicants. Assists in the development and promotion of veteran applicants, along with One-Stop employment services to the business community and other clients. Provides core, intensive and priority services in accordance with the Jobs for Veterans Act, Workforce Investment Act and Wagner-Peyser Act. Provides full range of employment and training services to eligible veterans to include: employment registration, determining eligibility for partner services, labor market information, vocational guidance, job search techniques and job development. Develops resumes, Individual Employment Plans (IEP) with follow-up process outlined for client. Identifies need for clients to receive case management services. Conducts outreach activities to locate clients who could benefit from intensive services from VA and other partner programs. Demonstrates use of self service tools and use of Career Center resources. Conducts job matching activities to provide veterans' preference and produce job referrals and placements. Follow-up with veteran clients to check employment status. Develops OJT opportunities with training providers. Performs data entry, retrieval activities and computer program operations unique to DOL in addition to other computer programs. Coordinates visits with visitors to the career center. Works with LMI to offer products that assist businesses. Promotes the hiring and training of Veterans. Makes employer contacts to develop job leads for veterans. Follow-up verification with employers on employment status of veteran clients. Some job related travel required.

Hours: 8-5, Monday - Friday.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: APPLICANTS MUST BE VETERANS' OF MILITARY SERVICE. Post high school coursework or training in social/behavioral sciences, counseling, business, public administration, education, marketing or a related field; or experience in client development and case management including interviewing, research and direct customer service. Preference will be given in this order: 1) Qualified service connected disabled Veteran; 2) Qualified eligible Veteran; 3) Qualified eligible person.

PREFERRED: Associate or Bachelors degree in human relations, social work or related major plus casework or equivalent work experience.

OTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel and Power Point), SharePoint, Google Docs; NEworks or other GeoSolution software; Management Information Systems. Skill in: Public speaking; communicating effectively; presenting information to groups of individuals.
