The opportunity:

The Technical Specialist will serve as a delivery and technical subject matter expert. The position's primary responsibilities will include delivering and technical project support, providing delivery and training to end users along with internal support for all areas of the product technical team. Representing the client & GXS in cross-functional product discussions, managing complex internal and external projects/implementations and working with the group's Team Lead to develop staff.The Technical Specialist will serve as a named point of contact for individual client implementations. Implementation project milestones typically include the UAT (User Acceptance Testing), the definition of project migrations, product configuration, testing/validation, client sign-off and account transition. They will be assigned to a sub-set of client implementations based on their availability within the team's capacity matrix.In conjunction with implementation responsibilities, this position will also support the technical team/resources and ensure the group has the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully support the product, identify problems, suggest modifications/fix’s and then test and implement. They are also responsible for all facets of internal and external readiness in preparation of delivery completion. They will proactively participate in GXS product lifecycle discussions, corporate projects impacting the team, new release training, etc. The Technical Specialist II can be a source of product information to the team, complete the necessary documentation and ensure supportability/readiness.

Delivering implementation or related servicesStrong written and verbal communications/presentation skills with internal and external customersHigh proficiency at problem solving, analysis, time management and trouble shooting skills with the eventual addition of expert knowledge of the Freeway Enterprise product range.Ability to manage multiple tasks, self directed, strong organization skills, strong customer service skills.Expert Understanding of EDI standards and value added networksDemonstrated proficiency with EDI translation software and mapping toolsExpert knowledge of remote access toolsSolid PC skills, operating systems and MS OfficeExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a fast-paced team environment.Demonstrated knowledge of messaging protocols (AS2, FTP,)Demonstrated knowledge of network infrastructure and related technologies (Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Routers, TCP/IP, etc.)Expert knowledge of EDI principles (XML/EDIFACT/TRADACOMS)Understanding of relational data mapping (application file-EDI or XML to EDI)Knowledge of support centre operations (Incident Management systems, phone systems, processes) is requiredDesired Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Ability to read Microsoft VB. NetExperience in software Engineering
