In Customer Care we are focused on delivering the desired customer experience for each of our customers. Everything we do starts with the customer and our information about the customer. PG&E’s Corporate Real Estate Department (CRESS) is responsible for several administrative functions that support the needs of PG&E’s operating departments. Market Street Graphics (Reprographics) reports to the senior manager of Facilities Management. The department consists of a 13 person staff, staffed during both day and swing shifts, and provides a broad range of copy, print & sign services to departments throughout the PG&E service territory. The department supports adherence to the PG&E branding guidelines through review and consultation with PG&E internal clients and ready availability of logos and templates.
Responsible for designing print ready and brand appropriate files for PG&E's internal department customers and supporting the production through to completion.
5 years as a graphic designer with direct customer interaction
Bachelor’s degree in the print, graphic arts or graphic design field; or equivalent experience
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Print, News media and/or Communications
Experience working in a union environment
Functional knowledge of Linux to assist with back end operation of the PG&E Print Catalog.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher (to work with customer supplied art).
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud Namely, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Photoshop.
Functional knowledge of operation of printing equipment
Understanding the basic provisions of copyright laws applicable to the work
Knowledge of and operational experience in, web-to-print order systems (i.e. RSA WebCRD, efi DSF).
Start designs from scratch, with various degrees of customer input, and/or building out files provided by customers (most often from Microsoft Office and Publisher).
Help ensure that Market Street Graphics products conform to Pacific Gas and Electric brand standards, as appropriate and depending on the audience.
Support compliance with specifications dictated by state and federal specifications due to the highly regulated nature of the utility industry.
Draw up job specifications and guide the production
Guide the customer to the most appropriate and cost effective product offering
Work with the production staff to make files print ready including straightforward preflighting of PDF’s with the application of repairs to color correction, building of bleeds, embedding fonts and other technical repairs.
Assist, as appropriate, with prepping files for print using Oce Prismaprepare; including assigning stocks, imposition and other functions needed and supported by that software package.
Represent the department at educational and informational meetings
