This role will report to the Sr. Director, Rail Operations. Reporting in to this role will be the Analyst, Purified Pipeline; the Analyst, Sulfur Pipeline; and the Transportation Coordinator.
Primary responsibility for Phosphate rail transportation operations including overall management of all phosphate shipment planning, rail car forecasting and scheduling activities.
Act as primary point of contract for carriers to plan and schedule phosphate shipments
Prioritizing rail shipments with consideration for T&D constraints (loadout capabilities, empty car supply & rail service) and in collaboration with Sales & Commercial teams
Prepare rail car plan/forecasts and track progress to plan
Issue phosphate shipping schedule
Lead daily planning calls with rail carriers
Monitor rail contract commitments and factor into plans, forecasts and schedule
Oversight of all phosphate rail operations, including loaded and empty expediting and fleet management
Work to minimize rail freight and car costs for all phosphate shipments
Monitor and assess rail carrier performance
Responsible for reporting on phosphate rail operations and execution including but not limited to Daily Flash Reports, Cycle Reporting, Metrics/KPIs and Fleet
Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary
Strong interpersonal skills
Analytical skills with strength in excel (pivot tables, graphs, charts)
Problem solving and critical thinking skills
This role will lead a team of people, requiring strong leadership and management skills
University degree required
5+ years transportation experience preferred, or general business experience
