WorkSource Oregon OMIC Plant Operations Manager in Scappoose, Oregon
Oregon Tech is seeking applicants for the OMIC Plant Operations Manager position in the Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center (OMIC) R& D. This is a 12-month, full-time position located on the Scappoose, Oregon site. Responsibilities encompass process design, machine tool operation and safety, and production floor industrial hygiene. Responsibilities also include coordinating plant activities, overseeing the activities of research and production personnel to ensure efficient and safe work operations, and the development and implementation of action plans for achieving research and production targets. Required Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering or relevant field. -Five (5) years of plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment. -Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. -Substantial machine and production line experience. -Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources). -Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes -Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants. -Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists -Ability to lead root cause analysis investigations. -Ability to explain training material to operating staff. -Aptitude for equipment operation and troubleshooting. -Excellent communication skills. -Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, on-line systems, the Internet, as well as online calendaring and email. -Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull over 50 pounds.
