SUNY Upstate Medical University Biomedical Engineering Technician, Senior in Syracuse, New York

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance according to established protocols, as assigned. Perform medical equipment repairs as assigned. Perform incoming inspections on new or demo/loaned equipment as assigned. Complete special projects/installations as assigned. Provide in-service training to co-workers. Perform all paperwork duties associated with daily work, ie: work order completion, shipping correspondence, purchase requests, etc. Communicate and or provide in-service training to clinical staff as needed as indicated. Conduct technical equipment evaluations as assigned. Research and develop protocols for preventative maintenance as assigned. Investigate equipment related incidents as assigned. Associates degree in a technical field (electrical, electronic, mechanical, or biomedical) or completion of an equivalent formal training program, and 3 - 5 years experience in medical equipment servicing to include competency in 2 major complex medical equipment systems, plus excellent interpersonal communication skills required. *Candidates who possess an Associate's degree in a technical field (electrical, electronic, mechanical, or biomedical) or completion of an equivalent formal training program, and 3 - 5 years experience in medical equipment servicing to include competency in 2 major complex medical equipment systems will be considered at BMET II - Level I salary.
