Work part-time, 20 hours per week, alongside the Nursing Assistant Program Director to prepare students for the Nursing Assistant program. Work as part of a team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our young people. Springdale is a residential program for young adults (16 ' 24 years) earning their high school diploma or GED, learning career and technical training, and preparing for their careers. Springdale teaches independent living skills and focuses on developing a positive learning environment and utilizing a trauma informed approach to student services. The Ideal Candidate will: 'exercise excellent communication skills 'work effectively with a diverse population 'be flexible, adaptable and innovative 'be detail oriented 'be collaborative and team oriented 'work with students using a strengths based approach to behavior management 'be resilient, positive and passionate about making a difference in our community Duties: 'Provide instruction in the foundational areas of Health Occupations and preparation for entry into the Nursing Assisting program. 'Collaborate with other members of the student's Career Management Team, including academic staff, career counselor and placement specialist. 'Provide support and assistance to the Program Director as needed. 'Demonstrate a keen awareness of diverse learning styles and will tailor instructional methodology to students using an array of teaching approaches. 'Motivate and counsel students in the areas of behavior, training and study habits. Relate academic skills to career and technical training and future workplace success 'Work with other members of the student's support team, including the career counselor, wellness nurse/disability coordinator, career and technical instructor, to provide wrap-around services for student success 'Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case notes, attendance, student progress plans, and student evaluation forms Licensed Certified Nursing Assistant 2 issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing and one year related experience required. One year related teaching experience preferred. Bachelor's degree and Oregon State Teaching Certificate preferred.
