This position provides analytical support for financial positioning and future growth within assigned department. This position leads in the development, analysis, and preparation of strategic financial plans and reviews current operating results to achieve overall system and entity strategic goals and objectives.
Provides high level of financial and operational expertise through analysis and interpretation of data. Gathers and challenges assumptions from various multi-disciplinary teams, develops financial proformas, and assists in preparation and presentation of business plans.
Leads key operational processes, including budgeting, forecasting, program reporting and analysis, charge management, cost accounting, decision support, reimbursement analysis, inventory management, capital requests and purchasing.
Ensures regulatory compliance in all aspects of the revenue cycle. Provides assistance, coordination and education, as necessary to internal customers for compliance within contractual and regulatory requirements with respect to timely accurate charge posting, revenue and coding.
Serves as leader or subject matter expert, which includes the initiation and assistance in identification and implementation of operating improvements and efficiencies by identifying important trends and variances.
Provides direction to coordinate implementation and support for financial and clinical information systems to enhance current and future system functionality.
May manages supply utilization according to clinical need and contract reimbursement. Leads efforts to manage and control supply cost, distribution and standardization. Identifies areas of potential cost containment and implements related process improvements. Provides financial analysis related to the acquisition and maintenance agreements of equipment.
May supervise staff. Provides effective leadership and promotes teamwork both internally and externally. Selects, trains, coaches, motivates, conducts performance evaluations, and directs the workflow for the staff. Develops goals and performance expectations for staff.
Requires a level of business and financial knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelors degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, nursing or related field.
Requires a proficiency level typically attained with 7+ years of experience in healthcare financial management, including demonstrated abilites in the areas of budgeting, forecasting and cost accounting, and an understanding of reimbursement methodologies. Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with changing needs and deadlines. Requires excellent human relations skills and the ability to effectively interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels staff and outside professionals.
Must be proficient in the use of sophisticated software programs. Proven advanced, analytical and modeling skills are necessary.
Previous supervisory/team leadership experience preferred; Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
