Position Description

Implement the Company Damage Prevention Program including performing and coordinating work group activities including patrolling, locating, construction inspection, and excavation inspection of Company gas/liquids pipelines, appurtenances, compressor stations, process plants and other related facilities.

Position Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers. (CDL, HazMat endorsements and ATV experience a plus.) • Company may require CDL and HazMat endorsement for future work activities. • Be available for and provide emergency response after regular business hours. May periodically be required to provide on-call responsibilities. • Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, Petris, DataViewer, and other Company software). • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals, etc.). • Considerable knowledge of pipeline equipment and skills required (Line Locators, RECON and GPS equipment, P/S Voltmeters, Leak Detectors, Camera, etc.) • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, P&IDs, TOPO and pipeline maps. • Excellent verbal and written skills. • Must be able to work in a team and unsupervised environment, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow rules and procedures. • Work with an open and positive attitude. • Extensive knowledge of Kinder Morgan Interstate Gas Pipeline assets located in western Wyoming, eastern Utah and western, Colorado. • 3-5 years experience in Natural Gas Pipeline Construction, Inspection, Operations, Maintenance, and Damage Prevention. • Thorough knowledge of pipeline related safety requirements. • Must be able to perform pipeline aerial and ground patrols per Company requirements. • Required to carry a company-provided cell phone/pager, and be available to respond during working and non-working hours. • Overtime maybe required and anticipated. • Must reside within the Altamont, UT area. • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. • Job level commensurate with experience and skill set.
