This position manages the Process Safety Management (PSM) program,OSHA Standards for General Industryregulation29CFR1910.119 -Process Safety ManagementofHighly Hazardous Materials, for the White Springs site. In addition, this position provides technical support for PSM related issues in the Phosphate division.Thisposition has a wide range of authority for decision making with minimal supervisionwhilecoordinatingthesite wide PSM activities.The Incumbenthasdirection settingauthorityfor activitiesthatare oftennew innaturetothesitesuch as Layers of Protection Hazard analysis,Facility Siting requirements,and SafeHaven development.
Assist in coordination of sitewidePSM activitiestoensure technical supporttothe Operations, Maintenance,Engineering, other plantdepartments,and management.
Participateinthe establishment of short andlongterm PSM program strategies and goals forthecontinual improvement of site PSM performance.
Produce, advise,review and/or manage all PSM correspondence,record keeping, andreportingdocumentation for allsitePSM process activities.
Work directly with regulatory agencies on all PSM matters including agency inspections.
Assist other Phosphate sites to apply PSM principles by providing technical expertise, site PSM policies and procedures and performing PSM focused audits.
The incumbentmust possessgoodinterpersonalabilities,workwith diversepersonalities,be tactful,flexible, and communicate clearly. The incumbent must bea strong communicator, using tact and diplomacy while demonstratingsuperioractive listening skills;possesses strong oral and written skills;establishes relationships and addresses conflict through appropriate resolution skills and techniques.
Prioritizes and is organized with tasks; is timely in responses and manages time appropriately; is willing to make hard decisions and implement actions.
Actively engages with others to enhance their understanding and compliance to PSM standards and performance. Constantly supports others and shares PSM expertise to help them achieve specific PSM / RMP related goals and competencies.
This position requires an A.S. or pending B.S. Degree in Engineering and/or a minimum of 2 yrs industrial experience in a Process Safety Management covered process or industry.
B.S Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 yrs experience in a Process Safety Management covered process or industry preferred.
Ability to plan, measure, and interpret results from an examination of the environment and present specific conclusions through verbal and written communications to management with minimal supervision.
